Default Driveshaft question

I have a 99 ranger supercab 4.0l (not sure if it makes a difference) but i heard that if you go over 110 in it, the driveshaft will bend? Im not saying i will do this by any means, its a bit scary at 100. Just asking for knowledge. thanks

If you need the speed, buy a custom racing shaft. Drive shaft RPM approaches engine RPM and that is waaaaay too much for a factory tube.
The shaft needs to be built perfectly straight and then balanced.
Look at your shaft (the one on the truck!) and you will likely see little square weights tacked onto it. It is balanced for common highway speeds, not high speeds.

My guess would be that there was an issue with the driveshaft already and the high speed just finished the job. But that's only a guess since I wasn't there.
