Exclamation Wheel wobbling. Please help.

Don't know if this thread belongs here or in the wheel/tires but here I go. I was going to dinner tonight for my sister's birthday and the family was driving behind me and told me they realize my driver back tire is wobbling. It wobbles when I start to drive at a slow speed then when I go up in speed and stay there, it doesn't wobble as much. Could this be that the axle is going out or the tire isn't all the way on? I did take it to Mr. Tires for a huge repair and within that repair, they did a tire rotation but never told me anything about wobbling. Want to take things in my own hands and do everything myself. So tomorrow, I'll go and see if I can jack it up and test it out, but if someone could give me a definite answer on this problem, if there is one, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

the only thing in the rear end that could cause a woblle would be a bent axle shaft or a bent/ improperly installed wheel. first thing i would do would be to take off the wheel and make sure that it was tightened properly. if everything there looks good i would suspect a bent axle shaft.

when you jack it up make sure the e-brake isnt on, chock the front wheels and put it in neutral, with the drivers rear up in the air try to make the tire shake side to side and up and down. spin the tire look for anything odd and listen for any noises.

I try doing a burn out and my sister watched as the passenger wheel moved but not the driver tire (back of course). I'll see if I can jack it up tomorrow and see if it's wobbling if I spin and move it around. A bent shaft? If so, how would I go about getting a new one and installing one? Thanks guys I really appreciate it.

Okay just went outside before it rained and checked the tire itself. It felt a little loose so I tried pushing it back in and it went as far back as possible. Then re tighten the bolts (very loose to begin with, with no elbow strength to take them off) and will wait tomorrow to see the results. But just in case, got the jack in the truck and the spare tire in the bed.

If you dont feel it when your driving i would be looking for more of an optical illusion,Maybe a dirty spot on the tire that makes it look like a wobble.Even a little bend in the shaft or the wheel itself and it will shake the truck apart.

I believe that doing a burnout is the only acceptable form of diagnosis for this problem. Continue to do it in this fashion, and report back on any other problems.

The reason you only had a one wheel peel is because you most likely have an open rear differential.

Yeah, when I drive, it feels normal. So maybe an optical illusion (mind freak)!!!! lol

If you check your bill i am sure it will say and they would have told you the wheels need to be retorqed after 100km of driving. If you havent drove that much and they were loose i would have a word with them,if you have drove more than that and you go back and freak out you will look like a tool.Just a heads up.

Well said, thanks. I'll probably go do that but I would hate to go back but I'll give them a talk and complain about it.

Update!

Took it back to Mr. Tires and complained about it. They said they didn't even touch the tires and I said bull shit, pulled out the receipt and showed them that they did in fact rotate the tires and put air in them as well. So they checked it for free and found out it was a small spacer I had from having my rims on in the summer. So they took it off and it does not wobble anymore. Glad it wasn't no shaft or anything. Now it's time to put my rims back on lol. Thanks everyone for your help.

I went to dinner last night and found out my back driver side tire was wobbling. Took it to Mr. Tires for repairs and thought they fucked it up. So last night tried and fix it myself but today no luck so today went to Mr. Tires again and complained to them about it. They said they never touched it but they did so they fixed it for free and found out that a small spacer was on the wheel from my other set of wheels (summer rims). So they took it off, bolted it back up and it was good to go! But thanks, now I have one less thing to worry about for the truck. Now all I need is a girl coughTaylorSwiftcough in the passenger seat and I'll be set for life lol
