Default clutch, removing start-up sensor

Far as I can tell, it's not possible to push start a truck while a sensor on the clutch pedal only allows ignition with the clutch pedal pushed in.
A past vehicle had a plunger type sensor, like car doors often are equipped with, but I can't figure my trucks set up.
How can I overide the Ranger's setup?

Maybe you can jump the wires in the plug connecter for the switch.

??? you can push start a vehicle with a clutch switch. leave the key in "on". all the clutch switch does is prevent the starter from turning. and yes, you just need to jump the connector.

Okay, thx, that makes sense. My last attempt to push start failed for some other reason than the 'start-up' switch, which I'll leave be and direct my attention to some real problems.
