Default Traction Control Operation

Good Day

I was wondering if somebody could explain to me how the traction control acually works? I tried the search feature on here but didn't get any results on this. My truck is a 2010 Ranger Sport Supercab 4X4.

Thanks in advance

MC

It depends what your question really is, if you want to know how to adjust the setting I know I read it in my owners manual, there is a way to have only certain elements on/off instead of just turning it completely on and off, its something like holding the button 5 secs or something... Its in the owners manual.

I would like a more general decription of how the system actually works. Right now when a tire spins a light is flashing on the dash board... what is it doing?

Traction control works by....When it senses a wheel spinning it applies the brake to the spinning wheel only.

Traction control and roll stability are all a part of the ABS unit, which uses the pump to send pressurized fluid to the wheels in question, and thus slow them down.

Has anyone had trouble with the lights showing up on the dash?

I use the Traction control system often, and I by chance wanted to see how the quickly the tail would kick in the snow, after pressing the button once, my traction control indicator did not bring up the "OFF" light on my dashboard...so i put it into 4x4 Low, which activated the dashboard, then took it out of 4x4 low in to 2H and everything was back to normal? Anyone have a glitch like this?
