Default Clutch Help.

Ok, so my clutch is failing in my plow rig. Slipping at top end 3rd-5th with 5th being un-drivable at highway speeds, it just revs out.

I want to put in a Heavy Duty Clutch. I want the disc to be beefier and the pressure plate to have more load over stock.

I have seen these Discs that are oddly shaped, one claimed to be HD and was shaped like a +. The other was shaped like a hexagon. Is there a difference in these styles vs. round...?

----------

Also, can racing clutches be considered HD...?

----------

And what material? I've seen Organic (WTF!), Kevlar, copper, ceramic

^^^yeah I will have it turned, well the truck has 262k miles on original clutch, plus 2 winters of plowing....I think its done its job! lol

Because of the plowing I want to go with something that will last longer and grip better, I think I like this one from Clutch Masters http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

agreed.

Does anyone have any input on these types of clutches? Would I be ok with OEM clutch and a heavier pressure plate..?

So today after the big storm and getting everyone plowed out, on the last job I lost my clutch. DAMN! right after I finished and backed out the drive. It was so bad that I could not give any pedal, had to let it idle itself out. Drove about 300 ft and thats all she wrote. Called a flatbed to load her up. Luckily, I was planning on the new clutch install this weekend anyhow

Here is a pic of the old clutch, this thing seriously was just flopping around between the PP and FW.
