2002 ranger transfer case ??
I have a problem with the transfer case. I recently removed the superlift driveshaft because of a squeak that I had, I thought it was a bad u joint; turned out to be that the ball joint in the double cardan joint was dry.
Anyway I reinstalled it and in the process of tightening the bolts where the driveshaft connects the the transfer case I heard something snap. Now when I go to get out of 4X4 It sounds as if its not fully disengaging. If I back up about 10 feet or so the sound disappears. Are there any plastic pieces that I could have broke? The truck was sitting on the ground and in 2wd when I did the driveshaft.
