The longet the leaf the more flex you can get out of it, also while looking at them for the front you want to keep the wheel base around the same unless your streching it. Mini frames (s10, ranger, B2, BII,etc) are around the same for all of this so yota springs (around 46in eye to eye) are good for use.

Re: 2 Wheel Drive to 4 Wheel Drive
It is an 82, it has no engine, but the rest is all there.
So now i just need to get those leaf springs, haha im just kinda worried that my wheels wont be in the same posistion up front. but ill shoot for the 46 eye to eye.

Re: 2 Wheel Drive to 4 Wheel Drive
what you do is get your axle set up with the tires on it after all the TTB is cut out roll it under to see where you need to put your shackles and front mount this wll also show where its going to rub and let you decide your pinion anxle as well though true pinion angle isnt going to be accounted for till you get all of the weight on the springs

Re: 2 Wheel Drive to 4 Wheel Drive
Pretty sure they dont think they only came on the full size 44s gunna have to have seem sent in to be milled, I warn you now you will be dumping money into this in order to do it right. Just in mine I had a little over 4000 invested before the "shop" I was working at decided to strip my truck and sell everything off it when iI came over here last time. But take your time and do it right if you need anything dont be afraid to ask I can walk you throught it the best I can and answer whatever you may need or can get a answer for you. Dont throw a bunch of crap togather and call it good,

Re: 2 Wheel Drive to 4 Wheel Drive
are you going to be running it on the street with the stock motor (what motor do you have)
----------
Street- in the rear I would run a 4.88 with 35's L/S or a selectable locker Front- 4.88 you can leave it open or put a selectable locker i here as well
Offroad- 5.13 gearset A- Weld the rear end up(poor man spool/locker bad for shafts easy to break) B- Spool C- selectable locker L/S Front- same as above

Re: 2 Wheel Drive to 4 Wheel Drive
I have the 3.0 so idk it doesnt have a ton of power. Im going to be going off road alot, but i still need it to be functional on the highway
----------
Like i said though 35s were just a goal... so im not too heartbroken if i have to go smaller.

Re: 2 Wheel Drive to 4 Wheel Drive
yeah I would run a selectable locker in the rear then and the 5.13 if most of your time is going to be offroad. Aso you def need to upgrade that motor for some of the mud there in FL i have seen 52in tires with built motors get sucked in. I dont mind the 3.0 for everyday driving but unless you get a doubler and get some low end torue going it going to be a dog running a bog and spinning 35's. I would plan a 5.0 or 351 build in the near future.
----------
33s I would run a 4.56 to 4.88 gearset

Re: 2 Wheel Drive to 4 Wheel Drive
So this project is basically back from the dead. The day I was on my way to pick up the Dana's got called into work at the last minute. Then they were sold by the time I had a day off. From there it was pretty much one thing after another. Things are all squared away now and I'm back to being serrious about doing this. Given now I am much busier, so this won't be a prompt build by anymeans, but i'll be plugging away at it when I can. I will say though that rereading this thread has made me glad I asked in the first place. So once again I want to thank all of you for the information, and I dont want any of you to feel that I was just wasting your time.
