Default Stuck! Even in Neutral it wont Roll!

I was offroad and stalled in a pretty big mud hole, tried to start it back up but wouldn't turn over. I had my brother tow me home. The motor wouldn't turn over for a while but I took out the spark plugs and pushed out all the water in the pistons. Now it starts and runs fine but when I put it in gear and try to drive it ls like the brakes are on. What did I get my self into?

That sounds bad. Can I drain the transmission or am I screwed?

Not sure how you would get water in the transmission without completely submerging the truck over the dipstick.

Have you jacked the truck up and tried to spin the wheels? See if it IS the brakes or something else. When you step on the gas, does it strain like its trying to push against something?

I think this is going to be a case of inspecting and cleaning everything under your truck.

Both differentials and the transmission have vent tubes (transfer case may have one as well) I'd suggest draining everything and re-filling with fresh fluids.

Also, I suppose it's possible that your drum brakes are full of mud as well.

I would check the drum breaks out.. My 98 use to stick all the time not really sure why but it did.

I remember one night i had to drive like a 1/2 with one back wheel locked up tight good thing we had snow so it just slid all the way home but it was rough with it bouncing off of snow banks.

Also, try giving it some umph in reverse. The drums work differently in reverse than they do going forward and sometimes you can break them loose. Or break them anyway.

Thanks guys, it was the drum brakes rusted real bad, had a real hard time getting the drums off I had to beat on them with a hammer. I sprayed a bunch of brake cleaner on all the parts and it's almost back to normal. the belts or bearings or something squeak real bad now.
