Transmission flued level is fine,no o/d light flashing(in fact when the O/D is off there is no problem).At about 55-60mph it feels like the right front tire is shuddering/vibrating.Since it doesnt do it with the O/D off I'm thinking The O/D gear is going?????
Right? or Wrong?
Its new to me and I have yet to pull it inside the shop and do a Fand F change.IF its the O/D gear I'm not going to waste my time and will just have the tranny shop do the change while they have it torn down.save/save.

If it feels like the right front tire is vibrating, then it's probably the right front tire. If it was your trans, you would feel it under you, and at the back wheels, not the front. As far as the problem not occuring when O/D is off, i'm not sure. If you still have O/D at all occurences, it's probably not going out. The O/D light in these Rangers is very sensitive, and will go off if you touch the trans the wrong way. If you were losing something in your trans, you would feel a difference in the way the trans shifts. The only thing the O/D Off light does is tell you that one of the sensors noticed a fault in a shift pattern. Transmissions still need to be diagnosed the old fashioned way, through how it feels when it shifts.

rotate and balance the tires did it too mine worked good i was noticing the same problem.

similar thing happened to my moms 97 explorer 4x4. it ended up being the front tires were worn worse than the rear. 4 new matching tires fixed it perfectly

new project: dirt track modified racing at the local saturday night track.

I got new tires just last month,but today I walked around the truck 3 wheels had weights and the suspect wheel had none.I'm glad I got the walmart/Sams lifeime rotation and balance package.

just cause there is no wheel weight dosn't mean it come off. Sometimes a tire only calls for a weight on the inside of the rim, or maybe just the outside. and once in a while no weights at all. 9 years of changeing tires comes in handy once in awhile. LMAO. but it wouldn't hurt to have them rotated and balanced. Rangers are hard on front tires.
