Default Serious Transmission Probs, Help W/Diagnosis

Today my transmission really crapped the bed. Neutral shifter position is now first gear. The clutch will disengage the transmission in this gear. No other gears work, they won't get any power past the transmission and the truck just dies when I try to use them, and the clutch will not disengage the transmission in any gear but 1st. The shifter doesn't feel the same either. Any idea what exactly happened here? I can most definately smell the clutch burning.

I would say either the trans is locking up (gears seizing up?) or the shifter "nub" is bent/broke

I'd start with checking the transmission fluid level and see what it looks like.

The fluid level is good, but I believe it needs to be changed pretty badly. I am about 80% sure that it is stuck in first gear. Any ideas on how to get it unstuck?
