Default auto hard shifting getting worse

ok so i just got back from fort jackson about 3 months ago from basic and AIT and now after my truck sat for 6months without moving the more i drive it now the shifts seem to get harder still a frim shift into gears but rough like a kick it feels like ive got the pedal to the floor and its shifting fast but i can be at half throttle or less. Then once im moving lets say 45 to 50 and i get on it to pass someone the truck gets this shutter for about a second then stops and once you let off the gas it will shutter again but twice in a row. WTF is wrong with my truck fluid is good no O/D light flashing or anything still pulls hard nothing seems to be wrong with the trans yet but if it keeps this up im worried about the trans fragging itslef. what is everyones input on this prob?

When was the last time your fluid and filter been changed? You should be doing it every 30,000 miles or at minimum every 60,000 miles. Transmission shops by their own admission say they would be out of business if people would change their transmission fluid when they are supposed to.

The same thing goes for the transfer case and differential(s).

Agreed. Changing the fluid/filter is one of the best ways to keep your transmission "healthy". Since the truck has been sitting with i'm guessing no movement in that time period, try changing the fluid and filter, and see what happens.

Either way, it's gonna be messy. I've heard of people pumping it out from the filler hole, but the fact that it can get on the exhaust manifolds scares me. You could also do it from the trans cooler lines. I'd just do it from the pan though. Much quicker. Just make sure you have a big enough catch pan.

Try to get on corner of the pan to drop before the rest of the pan. Completely removed the pan bolts on the corner you want the fluid to drain out of and gradually loosen the other bolts to allow the corner to drop. The pan may stick so you might have to use something to pry the pan loose. Try something made of plastic or wood to prevent scratching the sealing surface. Use something metal only if you have to. That should minimized the mess some but like stated above, it's going to be messy.

Buy a bunch of plywood and drive your truck on it, then work on that. Mess free, at least according to your driveway.
