So I went to have my brakes checked today and they said that my left rear axle seal was slightly leaking and needed to be replaced. They were going to charge $140 and I would've done it right there and then but they said it would take them 5 hours and I didn't have a ride home. Is this something I should be worried about or is it ok to let it be for a little while? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but have never dealt with tires/brakes/axles before, is it an easy job to do myself? By the way, my truck has 60k miles on it, should it be leaking already?
Just had my 2010 Ranger FX4 serviced today (just shy of 12,000 km on the odo)....my rear axle seal is weeping. It's under warranty, but they cannot fix it until "leaks".

If it is weeping and they won't fix it I would jut loosen the bolts and try to get it leaking a bit more. Why wait until it all slowly leaks out and ruins your gears?
