check engine light, squeak comming from rear of engine compartment (sounds alot like a serpantine belt squeak), in really bad cases the oil pressure will drop/fluctuate

----------

Correction: the above was for a camshaft syncro - so if thats not what your talking about nevermind... seen syncro and automatically assumed it was camshaft syncro - dont know about the transmission sync

I just hear like a metal on metal click when I shift sometimes and it concerns me.

This is EXACTLY what is happening to my manual 3.0 tranny. I am getting that metal clicking sound, but only in first gear and reverse. I am also getting the squeaking sound as well, in the same gears. If I come to a stop facing uphill, the car is almost impossible to get into first gear without reving the engine and finding the sweet spot.

I took my truck into Citrus Ford in Ontario, CA this morning. They want....are you sitting down....$900 just to drop the tranny and look at it!! This does NOT include the repairs. I'd rather buy a new one. I told them not to touch it and I'd pick it up this afternoon. He offered me 15% discount. I said I was looking for the whole thing to run me about 50% of that.
