I figured it would been the wheel bearing....

You can tell a little by the way your tires are wearing, or tilting in.....then you will be driving and the wheel will all of a sudden jerk hard one way...

I tell you the story....
I was going to school in my old Ranger (2wd)....I notice the wheels were kinda tilted in but I didn't think nothing of it. Anyways, I was driving down the highway...and my wheel suddenly jerked left at 60mph.....I couldn't turn it right...so I had to figure a way to get to my house only turning left...LOL! In the end, I saw my brakes were messed up because the wheel bearing basically was F'ed up.

it does sound like a bearing assembly to me from what you describe. have you jacked the truck up and checked for any play in the wheel and tire? its one way to check, if the bearing is worn enough there will sometimes be slop in it and you can feel it of you grab on to the tire and feel any wiggle in any direction. if you can determine the bearing unit is good than move on to the front diff. for now check the fluid in that while youre under there.

I have not checked it yet but am going to....I need to get the parts hopefully from mu buddies donor truck(he rolled one exactly like mine) I KNOW I also need breaks but money is tighter than ever....I had to sell my shotgun to buy Christmas for the kids.....my one friend at work said it's trying to put itself in 4x4 even when it's in 2 wheel...any ideas why?

It's really a straight axle powered by the transfer case....anyone know how hard the transfer case is to replace?

No need to be thinking of replacing that or anything else unnecessarily. Since your budget is tight follow 01-ranger-4x4's advise for checking the drivers side front wheel bearing 1st. That will cost nothing and will hopefully reveal that is the problem.

Will do but the reason I was asking is because if the parts off the donor truck are good and my stuff is on the outs I'd rather do it all at once....if the other trucks stuff survived the roll-over...

Well I went out and jacked it up and shook the wheel....and other than moving it side to side (which moved the passanger side wheel a little too) it didnt do anything. Checked the breaks (they NEED changed but they are not damaged in any way.....other than the leak on the pumpkin I dont see any indication of what could be wrong.

Help please.

Take off your front hub and check the bearing...just incase....and grease it back up if it is fine....check the disc and make sure they are not catching the pads..

I was told by a mechanic that the hubs are bearing contained and rated for 100k miles. My truck has 179k so if it's still the orig equip then it did good... However I could feel no play in it!

I did go and have my front diff fluid checked and it was bone dry  so i have to get my diff seal replaced! Anyone know how hard this is? I know it's right up next to that crossmember.....waiting to see if this was the problem and hoping it didn't mess anything up!

Not hard.. just unbolt the front of the plate and scrape off the old seal down to the bare metal (so you won't have no seapage) and put some bolts in the cover and then put your seal on (put some gasket glue on it too) and then tighten up the bolts to the right torque..

I'll get you a pic later cause I'm at work but with the 01 live axle the front plate is up against other parts of the truck...can't even get a wrench in there....
