Default 4.0 engine shock absorber (I think)

There is a small shock on my motor, right next to the power steering pump, it is blown out, fluid all over the place. What is this thing called and where do I get one, I asked the dealer and they can't seem to find it.

Can I put a solid mounted piece in there or does it have to have "give"

its probably to compensate for the engine torque'ing. They are called engine torque struts at Advance, idk if we can get one though

Your engine must be a torquey beast to break a torque strut.

Yup, that's what it is. It's to help absorb vibration in the engine or some BS. I have one too, I was looking at a heavier duty shock for it, since I drive a truck and I'm used to it beating my kidneys against my tonsils.
