Default Restoring my old '86 4wd.

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what the major malfunction might be on an 86 4wd? It's got the "4wd on the fly" switch in the overhead, remember that? Some years back it just stopped working, I suspect there may be nothing wrong with the mechanical end of it. Any clues?? Thanks in advance.

Check your fuses with a multimeter.
Start at the transfer case and have someone switch it into "4wd" and listen for the click of the motor engaging. If not go back to the switch and make sure you have power there. I you have power at the switch, start checking the wiring for a break.
About the only thing that ever went wrong with these was a lack of power or the motor not working.

Let us know what you find.

Ray

Dude thank you for the reply and I will (as soon as I can find the time). Anybody got any good wiring diagrams for this? By the way, what is this 'motor', something dedicated to the 4wd??
Thanks again,
Ran
