ok i forgot to mention i have another ranger 7.7 axle with a welded dif currently in the truck. i read on some fourms that you can take the left side axles and use them for five lug conversions and inspect the housing bearing then slap them on the mustang axle to use a more practical setup for daily driving.

HOWEVER, i dont know what year the 7.7 or the 8.8 are, all i know is the mustang 8.8 came from an 89 5.0gt fox body

it's 7.5 n 8.8 ....'85 mustangs and up had 8.8 and yes your correct on the 5 lug conversion for a stang, the chunk on a ranger is offset, one axles is longer than the other..
