Question Whining when clutch pedal is pressed

About a year ago I had a new clutch kit put in my ranger. Recently I was losing some clutch pressure so I thought it might be time to replace the clutch master cylinder. I tried pulling a vacuum on the hydraulic line to get pressure, I tried injecting break fluid from the top of the system. Nothing was working so I finally took the hole system out and bench-bled it. After I did this I had a lot of pressure and could get slide it easily into gear. However, now I'm getting a whining noise when I put pressure on the clutch pedal. Can you have to much pressure in the line?

Throw Out bearing most likely.

No, you'll have to pull the tranny because its on the slave cylinder.

if thrs play in the bearing, or it spins super freely replace with a FORD slave/t.o.bearing assembly.. It is important if the pilot bearing wasnt replaced when u installed clucth, replace it now while you have it apart.

Right,
Never don the clutch myself, but I have read some material and watched a few videos. Any tips or info I should know?

Could it be making the whining noise if there was still some air in the line?

----------

Okay so is it the throw-out bearing or the pilot bearing that would make noise when I pressed the clutch in?

Sideburn,

I guess you're not under waranty but for has been repeatedly sending out TSB's for the manual ranger on most models of the ranger since way back. I have a brand new 2010, not even 3500 kms on it, and the same shit is happening. They're looking into it here because its the first 2010 this dealership has had after ford expanded the 2004-2008 TSB to include the 2009.

You're problem is likely the same issue, and yeah its with the slave.
After doing a lot of looking into this because - why the hell should my clutch be squeaking or whining at age 3,500km ? - it seems that the best choice for any ranger, especially one out of waranty is after market. Ford just can't get it right, and its likely due to economics - as in its cheaper for them to constantly repair the clutch.

No, pilot bearing sits inside the crankshaft, it allows the output shaft of the tranny to be perfectly center of the crank. I suppose it is possible it has worn, but more than likely its the T/O bearing.

I had this same problem on my 98 and when I had the clutch assembly replaced the Pilot bearing had welded itself to the shaft. I had every part associated with the Clutch assemble replaced and it works great now. My Brother in law owns a shop and his cost for all of the parts was just under $500.
