ps. some 9 inches are full floating. mainly the ones used for racing. the reason i said use a 9 inch is because there is almost any ratio readily available and it is plenty strong for a ranger even if it has a v8
Go price out a Full Float 9" and get back to me. In the end its still a 1/2 ton ring and pinion.

Other then the Early Bronco and a few random cars the 9" is Full width anyways. I have a Built to spec EB 9" under my truck. Its too narrow. Im going to go with a small backspacing wheel to widen it up a bit.

31 spline shafts are going to be the weak point. Im on 36's now so it will be ok for my truck but I wouldnt want larger then a 38 on a 31 spline 9" specially with a v8.
