Default Leak from the Transmission

I have a transmission leak from underneath my truck. I got it diagnosed and it was said to have a leaking tranny pan. i was told it will cost me$190. I want to fix it myself. I dont know to much about it. Is it easy to fix and how do you do it? I have a general ide of how to do it, but I need more info. What do I need to fix it, and how much tranny fluid?

The pan isn't bad to do. Check to see if you need a gasket or not and get some RTV, plus at minumum, a Haynes manual.

The owner's manual will tell you how much and which fluid you need. Typcally with an automatic, it's Mercon V. Use exactly what the manual specifies. Merc/Dex is NOT a suitable substitute.

Take into account that fluid remains in the torque converter. The specs give you total capacity starting with everything empty. Carefull not to overfill.
