4x4 Front diff = rear diff?
I have a 8.8" 4.10 LSD rear axle (R7), would I have the same up front? Obviously the ratio would match, but would the front be limited-slip as well?

Re: 4x4 Front diff = rear diff?
Good to know about the open D35 up front. I guess it's not used frequently enough vs. the total produced to put a front Limited Slip in at the factory.
If I find that I want to use the 4x4 aspect a lot, I might investigate an upgrade.
On a side note…it's seeping enough at the input to sling oil to the frame – I'll need to pick up a shop manual and check that out for my 50,000 mile service.

X10000 4x4+ dry pavement = bad news. youre just asking for broken drivetrain parts.

Re: 4x4 Front diff = rear diff?
So 4wd should only be used offroad conditions? That knocking sound would go away driving in the snow and ice? Thanks

yes offroad/ winter conditions only. take it offroad and put it in 4wd and see if it makes the clunking still. if you have your owners manual you should read it. it explains when to use and not use your 4x4 and will explain how it will act while in 4x4.
