Default Pls Help!!! 4wd issue?

Hi there,
I have a 2008 Ranger and last night i went to put it in 4wd and it would not engage. The engine was reving as it should, the 4wd light was on the dash but the wheels were not engaging in low or high range. Any help would be fantastic as im quiet concerned... who else to turn to but the guru's.
Cheers Fellas

Make sure your either in park or neutral. Try both, if you have a manual press the clutch in and make sure its in neutral. Then firmly press the 4x4 button for a good 2-3 seconds. You should here a clunk or ratchinting, if your moving you will really here those sounds. There not bad sounds, try those few things and let me know.

Her truck will have a twist knob not a button if its electronic 4x4 or a stick, not sure what version the Aussies get of the ranger.

more than likely a twist knob.. if its an auto and she's trying to get into 4hi then she shouldnt need neutral or anything, it should just switch. Now to get into low range she'll need to be in neutral OR if its a manual trans 2nd gear.

now show us the affore mentioned knockers...

drew with a manual trans you don't have to be in 2nd gear. you can be in any gear you have to have the clutch and brake pressed.

4wd is like a condom. i'd rather have it and not need it rather tan needing it and not having it!

im sure you have the live axle so your hubs should always be engadged. So if your 4wd isn't working, its either something you are doing, or its something from the switch down to the transfer case. Like they said if you have an automatic, just stop press the brake all the way down and turn the knob slowly and bam it should work. if your manual press in the brake and clutch all the way in and do the same thing.
