Question Shudder when acclerating from a stop

So I have a shudder when I start off from a dead stop. I played around with the truck in my driveway today (laid under it and rocked it back and forth to watch the rear axle). I noticed something that got me wondering. It seems there is a lot of play from the driveshaft to the rear axle and when the truck rolls the axle rolls a little with it. I had the truck in park when I did this so no worries about getting ran over!
Has anyone really had this problem before? Is it a symptom of bad u-joints? Thoughts?

I just started sifting through some old posts and just found one option. It could be the slip yoke. Or maybe u-joints.

and there was also this link on how to lubricate the slip yoke.
