Re: 1989 t-case question
Yes. You just need a manual tcase from an RBV(Ranger Based Vehicle) and it'll bolt right up. Check the driver's side of your transmission for two unused threaded holes though....that's what the linkage bolts to and as far as I know, all but 01+ manual trans trucks have those holes already. If you don't got 'em, you're gonna need a new trans tailhousing swapped in that has the holes.
I suggest getting a 90-97 Ranger or 92-94 Explorer BW1354M (M means manual) case because it's a stronger case and beefier internals than the BW1350 you've got now. You also will be swapping to much better designed driveshafts. The 1354 will have bolt-on shafts compared to slip-in shafts. Also, make sure to get matching linkage(1350 linkage on a 1350...1354 linkage on a 1354). They don't interchange and neither do the shafts.
As for the hubs, I believe Warn makes their Premium Hub for 83-97 front ends. Those are about the most popular hub choice people get and there's many reasons why. They're good stuff and they're a local company to me(10 minutes away), so I always like to support local companies(Warn, Bushwacker, some others).
