Default Cannot shift into any gear

Hey guys, I did some searching and couldn't find any threads with my exact problem. I'll apologize in advance for my ignorance. I have a 2003 Ranger Edge, 4.0 5 speed. The truck is just about to roll over 100,000 miles, most of the miles are in town. I've had difficulty shifting into 1st and reverse for some time now. Today I started feeling a slight vibration through the clutch pedal while it was on the floor board. While driving home tonight I experienced some extreme difficulty getting into any gear. It eventually got bad enough that I could not get the truck into any gear and the clutch pedal is very tough to push down and will not push all the way to the floor board.

My questions are: Do you think the issue is with the slave cylinder or the entire clutch assembly? I do not plan on doing this work myself, should I leave this up to the dealership or a local shop (I live on the north side of metro Atlanta if you have a recommendations)?

Check the slave for sure. Then maybe the throw bearing

Or powershift....lol. when my slave went out I did that for a week until the shop could look at it. I was half expecting that i'd need a new clutch after doing that for a week but it still looked new!

Sorry for the double post!

Yeah slaves are a pita! You have to drop the tranny :/

I knew how to do it but didn't have the time. Cost me $550 but at least I had it by the end of the day

It turns out the pressure plate basically just blew apart. I was able to get my truck to some guys that my Dad has done business with for years and are very trustworthy. They are going to do an entire clutch assembly, including slave cylinder, for $900. It's still a lot of money, but about $500 less than I was quoted by the local dealership. I should get the truck back tomorrow and hopefully it'll be good to go.
