Default Trans slipping in 2010 XLT

So, my 2010 4X4 XLT has 4000 miles on it. I travel 80 miles per day. I noticed yesterday and confirmed today there is a problem, BIG problem with the transmission in my new truck. I pulled along side of a semi to pass it today on the interstate. I was going about 55mph. I pulled into the left lane and stomped on it. The trans downshifts from overdrive. No additional speed. I stop harder, the trans downshifts to a lower gear and the RPM's wind up too 4000, the 4500, then 5000, but the truck is going slower and slower. The semi actually started to pass me!
Whats going on?
I know it's under warranty but I have to get to work the rest of the week and next week etc . . . .

Drive to the dealership, and ask for a loner. Wish I still had a warranty.

I had a lot of trans problems in my 2000, had it rebuilt twice and finally traded it in when it went the third time, but my 2003 has shifted like butter since I bought it new in 03.

Sounds like something is messed up though, sucks but maybe they will give you a loaner

Yea, the dealer said they would supply me with a loaner from Enterprise rental. My neighbor is letting me borrow his Mustang Bullitt instead.
I dropped it off last night. I post what they find when they let me know.

Red face Re: Trans slipping in 2010 XLT

I have the answer
I'm embarassed to say, I'm a deufeus.
The air cleaner intake tube was plugged solid from a mouse building a nest!
I had hard corn in the air cleaner box 2 weeks ago and I emptied it and put a metal screen on the inside of the box to keep them out. Well since they couldn't get in the box, they set up home in the tube from where ever that goes to the box!
I have to put a screen on the outside of the tube now.
Dealer was great and burried the charges under warranty and there was no charge to me!
Anyone know where the intake starts?

Read the owners manual! I think you are expericeing this
Forced downshifts
Allowed in D (Drive) with Overdrive or D (Drive) without Overdrive.
Press the accelerator to the floor.
Allows transmission to select an appropriate gear.

Hope that helps,
Regards,
dweking

Mine has a really soft if any downshift too, and a soft upshift, I fixed it when I installed a Superchips program, nows its nice and firm.
