Default greaseing slip yoke

I was greasing my slip yoke and noticed there wasn't any splines in the middle of the shaft. It looked like there used to be splines. Did i strip it out?..I have a 2001 4x4 auto trans....(getting that clunk when taking off)....Chuck

The clunk may be a U-joint. Check those. As for the slip yoke? .....
