Hello to all,

I have a 97 ranger 4.0 auto 4x4, 215,000 miles, I lost reverse, 3rd and od, I have 1st gear braking, so the reverse band is good( I think) the od was blinking, pulled codes p0751 and p0756, so pulled the pan to check the solenoids, all checked out except the ecp( the biggest one) watch the video to see what im talking about, do you think this solenoid is causing my problems.? Yep, and it is a common problem. The ecp controlls the fluid pressure. it is a hundred dollar fix, but if you wait too long it will cause internal damage. While you are there, I do suggest the valve body shift kit. There is a screen at the tip of the ecp that gets clogged and you may hear theories that if you just clean the screen then you will be okay, but this is not a 100% fix as that when the ecp gets clogged for a time it will cause seize up, which will have you doing the same job twice.
