Recently had my 99 V6 4.0 in the shop and they had to pull the tranny (needlesly I might add) now when I try to use 4 wheel drive it acts like the emergency breaks are on. If I force it a little with the accelerator it starts squealing like a tires locked up. What did this guy get wrong when he put it back together?

Sounds like they didnt reinstall the transfer case properly to the transmission. Take it back and make them fix it!

2003 FX4 LEVEL II

Ended up being a mismatched tire issue. Had two new tires put on the front by a local tire mart and they put the wrong size on. All 4 wheels can't turn at the same speed without the same size tires.

that sounds like what happend with my truck i blew both head gaskets and cracked both heads and brought it to a mechanic half tore down and when i got it back he didn't install my exhaust manifolds right and didn't connect a bunch of sensors and he wouldn't fix it. so i had to witch was no big deal cause at least it was done right
