crud in clutch fluid?
I have been having problems shifting into first and reverse. From what I have read here my slave cylinder is probably going out. Since I don't have the cash for a clutch rebuild right now I decided to flush the clutch fluid. I started by hooking a mityvac to the bleed screw but couldn't get any fluid to come out. I decided to get my girlfriend to pump the pedal and then some grey crud came out. After this the mityvac worked fine. Before I would have to jam it into gear till it warmed up and now it is better. My question is what was the crud? Also is a total failure right around the corner? If so I will go ahead and put rebuild kit on credit card. What kits have you had the best luck with and which ones should I stay away from?
