Default Brake fluid leak

I have a 99 ranger and two months ago I had my brakes completely replaced along with the master cylinder. Im in college now and I went to walmart to pick up a few things and when i left my parking brake light came on and my brakes started to push all the way to the floor. Im not very knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles so i called my mechanic and he told me to check the brake fluid. I did that and it was almost empty so i bought some more and filled it up. This didnt help one bit because the pedal still goes to the floor. I then looked under the truck and near the back in the middle there was brake fluid leaking out. How much is this to fix? How could this have happened? Does this explain the lack of pressure on the brake pedal?.....i do have 112000 miles on it
