Is there anyway to adjust the bands on a 99 ford ranger xlt 3.0 auto transmission. Mine seems to be slipping. When I get on it it is slow to downshift or when going up a hill. When it does shft it shifts hard. Thought it might be an IAC ot TPS replaced both but no change any ideas?

What would your idle air control valve have to do with sluggish shifting??

These trannys all shift slow. Every Ford truck I have driven so far has been slow...its part of life, plan ahead for downshifts. If you're tranny is slipping it wouldn't grab that hard, it would seem like it's stuck in between gears or it would stick in gear. If your tranny is slipping it means that your clutch packs are worn out or you have a solenoid dying. Which means rebuild time! Wahoo...not
