Default Grinding? And not the fun kind...

Hey,
Ok, so when im shifting into 1st, 2nd or reverse somethings grinding. It shifts into gear just find but even if im at a complete stop the gears grind for a second after it engages....it sounds similar to when the clutch isn't fully engaged and you try to shift.....is my clutch going out or does it sound more like a tranny job? Thanks,

Trav

i think that your clutch could be out of adjustment and not disengaging completely. or the throw out bearing might be getting stiff? idk ive had both of those happen to me on old tractors

sounds like a clutch...Id sooner drop about $100 on a new slave cylinder and throwout bearing than $1000 on a trans if you're not too sure.

Thanks guys! Took it to the shop and they replaced the whole get up, looked like it was the original clutch? I have a hurst short throw shifter in there and it was always givin me trouble with fast shifting, its amazing now! Shifts so smooth.
