Rear Diff Temp.
well I finally changed out my pinion seal and so far no leaks. I drove around for like 10 miles and did alot of shifting and as soon as I got home I crawled under and put my hand to the rear diff housing behind the seal and around the bearings and pinion gear go and I could hold my hand there for like 3 seconds or so before it got hot enough that id pull away. can anyone else test theres and see if theres is the same way, just trying to see if I damaged the bearings.

Re: Rear Diff Temp.
I mean i drove like 10 miles aroud in the city so I mean it is hot outside and I did alot of shifting thru the city but i, just trying to find out if I need to have it looked at by a place before I actually do some damage to the bearings or worse if that is the case. I never felt the diff b4 so I cant tell if its just how it was or if its running hotter because I damaged a bearing or something.

Re: Rear Diff Temp.
kk thanks dont forget, like I said I did alot of shfiting and then as soon as I got home and turned off the truck I felt up on the housing behinc the seal and bearing area and it was warm enough that I would hold my hand there for like 3 to 5 sec or so and pull away

how hot was it, like how long could you hold your hand to the diff behind the seal and bearing and pinion area?
