Thought I had squeaky brake pads/rotors but after cleaning and greasing the squeak is still there. I even put it on jackstands and took the calipers/rotors off and can still hear the squeak. Could it be the CV joint? Axles? Any ideas?

After a little looking around on the net I found instances of a similar problem and the culprit was a dust excluder shield. Anybody heard of this and what do I need to do to shut it up?

r/f or l/f? mine was on the l/f driver-side..turned out to be the inner seal on the difft'l...right inside of the boot where the axle fits in the difft'l/trans. db40
