Default Fairly simple question

I have a 98 Ranger with a five speed and no tach. I literally just learned how to drive stick yesterday, and I have a pretty good idea one when I'm supposed to be shifting into what, but without a tach it's hard to be sure.

Just wanna know around what speed should I be changing into what gears? Just to be sure. I don't wanna put any extra stress on it.

You can tell by the sound. Once you get the hang of it you'll see

I guess, maybe I'm just being over-cautious. I dunno, I feel like I gotta rev the hell out of it to actually get it up to speed, but it might just be because I'm new to the standard scene.

You'll get used to it, the faster you want to go the more you wind out the gears. Just keep practicing and focus on your driving

I'm debating installing a tach, I saw those pillar mounted pods, and thought a little 3 inch in that wouldn't look ridiculous.
