Default Trans jumps at various speeds

1989 2.9 4x4 auto.trans rebuilt in 2006.Recently as you travel up a grade once you reach 35-45 moh it jumps like it is coming out of gear,if you accelerate it goes away. it will also do this at 55 mph or so,Any ideas? Thanks

The fluid level checks good? How long has it been since the last fluid change in miles?

Fluid level is good.Not been serviced since rebuild in 2006.

Four years is a long time. The transmission fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles. If everyone did that, transmission shops would be out of a job. I think your tranny has a filter too. Any way, give that a shot. It's fairly cheap and it could be all that you need. The fluid might need changed more than once to clean all the old fluid out.

Thanks,I will get it done soon.Also talked with a trans man,he is going to look at it Monday.
