Pull rear cover off of diff. Look at the pin that holds the spyder gears in. When you rock the driveshaft you will see the pin wobble. It should be snug to the bore. If yours wobbles like mine did you will need to replace everything in the rear except the axles and housing and yoke. When you take a really close look at the fluid that comes out you will see it has shiny material. That is metal that you can pull out with a magnet. Those filings also tear up the ring and pinion.

I am new to this and not sure that I am doing this correctly
I have 64000 miles on it and only one owner. Have rear differential problem when statring off on a slight grade it goes thump. Has there been a recall on these as we have never been told of one. I know a fair amount about working on them but they were older and I was younger
