Default Removing 4x4 bits? Just want Rwd...

Does anyone know what all is involved in ditching all of my 4x4 parts and turning my truck into a 2WD (FR) only? I only drive on pavement, never use the 4x4, and the setup makes it slightly harder for me to drift. If anyone could help me out with how to do this I would greatly appreciate it!

Just start removing the transfer case. Then start pulling the stuff off up front.

You will need all new front end parts to swap over. I bet you could find someone with a 96 that wants 4wd.

I'll probably do that, as well as somehow ditching the hubs too. Putting Motegi Touge rims over 4wd hubs isn't exactly a pretty sight lol.

Also got this from another website.

"If the drive shaft will be removed for an extended length of time, then plug the hole in the transfer case to prevent moisture from contaminating it."

So I guess I would just have to get a little welding done over the hole and leave it as is.

Btw, does anyone know how to remove the hubs? Or would I have to get a new axle all together?

i would make a plate to cover the transfer case and bolt it on in place of the driveshaft that way its still useable later on if you want to sell it

Actually I'll just keep the parts around, that way if I sell it I can say "all you have to do is slap these parts back on and you have a 4wd! (might make my truck more marketable in the end).

that moisture thing is bs.

people run with no front shaft all the time
i did for like a good month before mine was on.
i really dont even understand as to why it'd say that. when your in 2wd anyways, the front shaft isnt supposed to be spinning and thers NO opening for if you were to take the shaft off.

like i said, just take it off and be done...aside from the hubs...for your wheels
