92 Ranger xlt manual transmission problems please help.
I have a 92 Ford Ranger xlt. It has a manual 5 speed transmission and a 4 cylinder engine. I believe the tranny is a mazda. Anyway, it is extremely difficult to shift into first and second gear when it is stopped and in neutral, so when I start the truck I have to have it in first gear before I turn the key, also, when I am driving I must first shift it into first gear before coming to a dead stop otherwise I will be stuck at the stop sign/light trying to shift into first from neutral. Some lights where I live are very long to hold in the clutch, plus it worries me that my transmission is going out. What is this? I was thinking of adding some transmission fluid but I can't find a solid answer anywhere of which type I should use. Also when the truck has been sitting there for awhile and I begin to drive it, it jerks around a lot while in first and second gear till it warms up. Thanks for the help in advance.
