Default *vid included* strange noises when engaging clutch

Hey new member here. 4.0 5 speed 2008 Ranger Sport

Here’s a quick video of the noises:
If it matters or helps, I know I had the camera out the drivers side window but the sound does seem to come from the middle of the truck where the transmission is.

It makes this metallic rubbing noises as well as a “shuddering” noise as I’m engaging the the clutch and goes away when fully engaged. Rarely happens on an upshift if I’m not careful. The only way to avoid it is to rev to 1800-2000rpm and slip the piss out of the clutch or crawl and baby the accel and clutch. I used to engage the clutch at 1400-1500rpm for years no problem for most of my time driving.

I’m just confused because I had this truck 4-5 years and it never made a sound like this. And I’m especially confused because I had the clutch, master, and slave cylinder replaced (fooking $1200 job) for a dead clutch (clutch was soft for awhile and eventually lost almost all pressure) about 1.5-2 years ago. The shuddering appeared pretty much right after the clutch job but the rubbing whining noise started around 6 months ago.

Was the flywheel resurfaced? New pressure plate? I'd sure hope so for that price but I'm just checking. The shuddering is usually caused by a bad surface on either.

Time to take it apart regardless. Before something fails, flies apart, and destroys your bellhousing/trans/etc..

Invoice says yes, resurfaced flywheel and new pressure plate

I also just noticed years later that theres no mention of replacing the slave cylinder on the invoice, is that normal? I might be going off topic here but that was the only reason a new clutch was going in, because they said the slave went and insisted I might as well replace the clutch since they had to drop the transmission anyway. Very sketchy if it’s what I think...but of course I could be wrong

Well if they charged you $1200 I hope they stand behind their work. Take it back to the and make them look inside.
