Default Narrower rear end

I thought I had read somewhere that the rear end in a first gen Ranger was narrower than the second and third gen. About 2" overall. Any truth to it?

Can an early one like that be swapped into the more recent generations?

Just trying to learn more while I'm laid up with this broken foot.

Default Re: Narrower rear end

Don't know for fact, but have heard the early Bronco 2's were narrower than the ranger. Also if the early rangers were narrower spring mounting pads may be different than later ones. And early ones didn't have the speed sensor ports.
