Default B3000 transmission removal

So the manual I have says the exhaust has to come out for the transmission to come out. After some broken sockets and knuckles I have everything but the exhaust loose. My question is does the exhaust have to come off? The bulge where the starter is mounted will definitely hit the Y pipe but can the trans be twisted to get it past? I have sprayed the exhaust bolts with liquid wrench twice but they aren’t coming off. I was just trying to disconnect at the manifold and lower out of the way.

Thanks

Thought I replied last night.

I have seen quite a few videos but all the detailed ones involve inline fours. Exhaust doesn’t interfere with removal on fours. I am going to buy a propane torch and see if the bolts will come loose with heat. If not I will try to get some help to try to turn the trans while pulling.
