Default Rear axle dog legged

On my 1997 Rear wheel drive Ford Ranger.
The driver side front leaf spring rear bracket broke, and the driver side rear wheel axle moved back about an inch or two. I am trying to figure out how to move it back into alignment to put the new bracket on.

Paying for an auto shop to do it, isn't an option at this point.

And I have done most of my repairs on this truck.

If you have a come along attach it to the front axle or a cross member, something solid, and winch it into place. It will help to loosen the passenger side u bolts, in fact loosening the passenger side will probably allow you to do it by hands.
Use common sense and don't go pulling hard and risk bending whatever your winching from, use alot of blocks/jackstands and whatever else you can come up with. Whenever I replaced rear spring shackles on mine I picked up the rear end of the truck with a tractor and did it, of course I had the bed off so I wasn't under the truck.

----------

on second though, find a factory hole in the frame and rig a chain through it on the same side you need to pull the axle and use that as your pull point, you will be less under the truck and less likely to bend a cross member or front axle if you really go putting tension in the rigging.

Yeah, I considered taking the bed off.
I already took the rear fenders off.
I have jack stands and a 3 ton jack.
I have been trying things, but I might see if I can loosen the passenger side u bolt.

I have been trying to find ways to move the axle. I don't have any other vehicle to pull it.
Whatever way, would have to be by hand.

I have been trying to come up with the best points to put jackstands.

I am thinking of taking both rear wheels off, to lessen the weight on the leaf springs if I need to just jack the frame up some way.

Jack up the truck, chock front wheels and put jack stands under the frame. Take wheels off. Let rear end hang free. Put your new bracket on. Use the jack to raise rear end up so the spring hole lines up close to mount hole and position accordingly.
