Default Trans fluid thoughts.

Wow it's been a long time since I've been on here. Anyway I have a question that maybe some one will be able to help with. So I recently had to pull the 5r55e out of my 03 fx4 level II. Had the tss go bad which requires disassembly of the front half of the trans. Got it all back together and will be putting it back in the truck tomorrow. Since I work on Allison transmissions for a living, I have a large supply of their premium Allison Transynd fluid at my disposal. I plan on filling my trans with it. Figured if it was good enough for Allison it would be good enough in a ranger. Has anyone every tried it in theirs? I know it calls for merc V but I can use this stuff for free. Keep in mind that this truck isn't really my daily driver and is more of a trail toy. I've put maybe 5k miles on it in the past 2 years, and now that I have a new truck I predict even fewer miles in the upcoming years.

I’d say look at what’s in them and make a decision on that

I went ahead and used the transynd. Everything worked fine on the test drive so I guess it'll do. I do need to get a new front drive shaft though, and the truck decided to develop a steering wheel wobble while going around curves. It wasn't doing that before I pulled the trans. Lol
