Default 2012 T6 Ranger clutch bleeding

Hi all! I know the first thing everyone wants to reply is “there are other posts covering this topic”. Ive looked for them everywhere and i cannot find a clear procedure to bleed a hydraulic clutch on a 2012 T6 Ranger 2.2 tdci 6 speed manual.

I had my mechanic change the master cylinder on the pedal two days ago after i lost all pressure on the clutch. The only thing is he also tried to bleed it but there is no bleed nipple on the slave cylinder!( or if there is we cant find it).The vehicle is drivealble but only after some furious pumping of the clutch pedal. I had a chat with our local Ford dealership’s mechanics and they say its a self bleeding system and aparantly the air will work itself out after a few days( which i dont believe for a second). Does anyone know how to bleed this system without taking out the gearbox to get to the slave cylinder?

Not familiar with the T6 platform, so the only thing I can tell you is on the American Ranger, there is an access port on the bell housing to get at the bleeder for the slave cylinder since Ford put the slave cylinder on the input shaft. Also get a new mechanic, sounds like he loaded up the parts cannon and fired it at the vehicle, that is a parts changer not a mechanic.

Lol, no he didn’t fire a parts cannon at it, the master cylinder was broken and is a sealed non serviceable unit. Unfortunately i dont have a photo to show.I would have done it myself if i had the time, but ill have a look for an access port, i didnt see one before but mabey i missed it. Thanks for the advice!

On the American Ranger it’s a rubber plug kind of a rectangle shape.

Thought most of the clutch cylinder had to be bench bleed. Due to the installed in vehicle not allow air to get out bench bleed can move it around to allow air to get out. good luck

Thanks for the advice guys! It seems as if it was a self bleeding system... or i was just lucky.... the clutch came right a few days after the new master cylinder was installed.... its been 3 days now without any issues!
