Have a squeaking/whistling noise when I have either of the 3 going on and truck is moving:
1. Front manual hubs set to locked position 4x4 not engaged
2. Front manual hubs set to unlocked (free) position and 4x4 engaged
3. Front manual hubs set to locked position and 4x4 engaged

Don't have the noise when both electronic 4x4 is not engaged and manual locks are unlocked.

1994 Ranger 4.0L, electronic shift 4x4, automatic transmission.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what might be making the noise?

front u-joints?
