Default Rear ended on the freeway, 15 days later I'm getting a transmission code.

First off I want to get an opinion on wether being rear ended can couldve caused this. I was impacted at the last moment by an unattentive driver. Today (15 days after accident) while driving home i felt a hard shift and looked down to see the od light flashing. It seems to be blinking twice, I can't get an accurate on off period. The truck was shifting hard first to second the whole way home. I have yet to take it to a trans shop. Any thoughts?

Probably unrelated, the OD light flashing on and off, is an indication you have an issue with a solenoid in the trans. The other possibility is a bad speed sensor, however not likely because your abs light would be on too because it’s the same sensor. I would recommend bringing it directly to a trans shop because continuing to drive it will cause more damage.

Truck has 150k and is a 4x4. I've never felt any hard jolting shifting til this point. When the lady was going to hit me i, I could see it coming. I inadvertently cushioned the impact by instinct. I didn't have my brakes fully locked. She managed to pay attention only on the last second and slammed on the brakes. If I hat to guess she was moving 15-20mph. I'll see if I can find the time to take it to a transmission shop nearby. Do they usually do free code reads or is it something that they usually charge for? Trying to prepare my anus.

I’m not sure, but my recommendation is to not wait to long otherwise the more damage the more expensive the repair
