Exclamation What did I do??

Hey all, this may get a bit long so bear w/ me. First the details: 1993 Ranger 2.3l, 5 Speed, 2WD, 231k. The story: The other week I was driving in town and had to stop suddenly to prevent smashing into the person in front of me. Apparently the inner brake pad on the RF hub lodged itself a little crosswise and started to cause the RF to lock up. I had to do a parking lot brake pad change in the 100 degree heat. SUCKED!! During the brake job I managed to accidentally dump the clutch with the truck running and in gear. The truck has no parking brake and I always use a brick behind a tire to keep it in place. Anyhow the truck seemed fine on the way home (35 miles) and I had plans to change the LF pads eventually.

I went to take it to work again last week and now there is a very pronounced whine coming from the transmission when in gear w/ the clutch out. Even in neutral with the clutch out there is a slight whine. I checked the fluid and everything seems fine, it runs through the gears without any issue at all. The clutch operates fine as a matter of fact everything seems fine, just LOUD whie now. Is this a bearing in the clutch assembly? Any ideas? Thanks!!
