Default 1354e manual shifter?

Has anyone on here had any luck making some sort of manual shifter for the push button 1354 transfer case? I know the easiest thing would be swapping a 1354m but I've looked and there are none near where I live.
Thanks in advance

Or what does it take to swap the 1354e to a 1350m behind the m5od

Depends on the year.

In years 97 and older, there is a chance your tailshaft has 2 holes in place to mount a manual shifter. If not, you just need to swap one in. (Bolt off, bolt on.)

In 98-2000 I don't believe the tailshafts have those bosses but you just swap in the tailshaft from any M5OD that has them.

In 2001+ if you have anything than a manual 2002 FX4 or 2003 FX4 L2 then you need to:

A. Find the tailshaft housing from one of those rare trucks (good luck. Maybe try buying direct from Ford?)

B. Make a custom shifter (has been done in the past)

There are many manual cases online for not a lot of money if you are willing to put in the time to look.

I'm a 91, but you're saying that I could just swap my electronic for a 1350 and it should be good?

There used to be a manual emergency-shifter thing called "The Shiftster" but it looks like he's gone out of business. Old URL was
http://www.theshiftster.com
but that's just a placeholder now.
(Now that I was gonna order one, that is)

Yeah I've seen it but I'd want to be able to work it from inside the cab

Sorry it took me so long to see this... Yeah, any manual shifting 1350 will work and swap right in (I'm almost positive you have screw bosses in place, but it doesn't hurt to check - easy to do too)

Lucky for you, those are the easiest ones to find, in my local yard there are 4-6 of them!

If you need any parts for one, send me a message, shipping a case itself may be costly but if you need some linkages or something I could get those for you.
